Last night I took my students to see an English language movie at the American Center.  We saw Whiplash.  The boys kept telling me they hoped there would be lots of action and fighting in the movie (wow…boys are the same everywhere! :) ).  I told them there would be action and music but no fighting.  When they heard music I think they were expecting something more Bollywood like :) When the movie was over I looked at the boys and they all had smiles on their faces.  Even though it was in English and I’m sure they only picked up some of what was being said they were all able to follow the story and they really seemed to enjoy it.  When we left the theatre a couple of them commented how cold it was in the theatre.  I informed them that was American style AC and all places in the US are air conditioned like that.  For me it was one of the rare times I’ve been comfortable in this heat!
