Many of you have asked me what you can do to help the kids at SBT.  First, thank you so much for even asking.  If you really do want to help, please consider donating your unused but still operational digital cameras, iPhones, iPads and laptops.  Most things in India cost much less than in the US but technology costs more here than it does in the US.  Plus they are great about reusing and refurbishing things here. SBT uses the digital cameras in their arts program. They teach the kids photography as a way to express themselves. Vicky Roy is a former street child who grew up at SBT.  He discovered photography there and is now a well known photographer. You can check out his work at vickyroyphotography.com  His work is beautiful and shows real life on the streets in Delhi. They use the phones, tablets and laptops to teach the kids and give them access to the internet for schoolwork. Address and instructions for sending these things are on the salaambaalaktrust.com website.

SBT will also happily take your cash donations :)  You can donate money via paypal. The instructions are on the salaambaalaktrust.com website.

Also, if you visit India then sign up and take the City Walk Tour given by former street kids.  You will learn about life on the streets, SBT and be inspired by these kids! TripAdvisor just awarded the City Walk Tour the 2015 Award for Excellence so check it out!

Lastly, If you have time to give or if you know a college kid who has time off in the summer then come to SBT and volunteer.  It’s a great opportunity to teach and an even better opportunity to learn!

Thanks to everyone for the support!
