Cows are holy creatures in India. In Hindu religion cows are seen as the symbol of life. They provide multiple sources of food and a source of fuel in the villages (they burn the dung). Cows sustain life. It’s beautiful really. However, the cows in the city are living in the street. Eating trash. Malnourished and injured. They cause accidents and slow down traffic. They often get hit by cars and killed. I completely understand not wanting to eat the cow, but is it super Western of me to wonder if they can’t be holy on a nice farm somewhere with plenty to eat?
